A joint research of Marcelo Santana and Gaudencio Freires (Universidade Federal da Bahia - UFBA, Brazil), in cooperation with Rilton Primo (Centro de Estudios por la Amistad de Latinoamérica Asia y África - CEALA, international) and José Rodríguez (Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco - UJAT, México) has been accepted for presentation in 5th World Production and Operations Management Conference (World P&OM), september, 2016.

They receives scientific congratulations by Steering Committee Chair and Program Committee Chair of 5th World P&OM, which received over 500 submissions and the average quality level was very high. Each study received a double blind review and careful evaluation by the Scientific Committee. 

The theme of World P&OM 2016 is: “Joining P&OM Forces Worldwide: Present and Future of Operations Management”. In line with this proposal, the approved joint research UFBA/CELA/UJAT contains a proposal for tripartite regulation of reverse logistics costs of solid waste through the Activity-Based Costing: Direct Product Profitability, Total Cost of Ownership and Efficient Consumer Response. "The presence of actors with asymmetrical market power in the reverse logistics of solid waste inspires regulations that have linked businesses, governments and non-governmental organizations", argue the authors. "The integration of calculation criteria focused on the activity, profitability and full funding exists. The decision support that these integrated measurements provide for the administrators is encouraging. There are also experiments and analysis that signal for the use of economic incentives", researchers argue. 

The World P&OM take place every 4 years with increasing success, were initiated in 1998 as a new kind of Conference, where the main OM Associations in America (POMS), Europe (EurOMA) and Asia  (JOMSA) joined their efforts for the first time. They After Seville (2000), Cancun (2004), Tokyo (2008) and Amsterdam (2012). 

The 5th World P&OM Conference to take place at the Havana International Conference Center in Cuba, September 6-10, 2016. It is again time for a great joint effort in the field.
