Brazilian Writer Presents Book Dedicated to Jose Marti

CIEGO DE AVILA, Cuba.- Brazilian writer Rilton Gonzalo Primo, with the South American Brigade of Solidarity with Cuba visiting the island presented Friday his book Poetics: Rhymes and Essays (Poética: Rimas y Ensayos)dedicated to Cuban national hero Jose Marti in the city of Moron .
Gonzalo Primo told ACN the book is a compilation of Marti’s political and literary thoughts and said there is no other place better than Cuba to present it, as part of activities marking the 158th anniversary of Marti’s birthday on January 28.
The book also includes poems and paintings by Antonio Guerrero, who is one of the five Cuban antiterrorist fightersunfairly imprisoned in the U.S. since 1998 for fighting terrorism in that country.
Gonzalo Primo said Guerrero has mailed him some of his poems, paintings and drawings and that they have exchanged letters through which he has learned about Guerrero’s deep love for his home land.
The South American Brigade is in Moron, to north of the central province of Ciego de Avila to carry out agricultural work.
Gonzalo Primo (Salvador de Bahia, 1975) is a poetry and essay writer and the director of the Jose Marti Cultural Association of Solidarity with Cuba in Brazil.
“Coming to Cuba was an over 20-year-old dream; the opportunity of learning about its history and getting closer to the daily life of its people will make us better,” Gonzalo Primo said.
